Coming hard on violators, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) on Tuesday disconnected the gas connection of Punjab Assembly (PA) Speaker Rana Iqbal’s CNG station for not observing closure on scheduled days. The company also disconnected gas connections of 15 CNG stations on the same issue. The SNGPL had announced gas load shedding for two-and-half days for CNG stations in Lahore region. CNG station had to suspend their sales from Monday morning to Wednesday evening otherwise their gas connections could be disconnected, an SNGPL source said, adding that it was learnt that some CNG stations in Lahore region were not following the schedules and providing CNG to vehicles during these days.
The SNGPL planned action and checked CNG stations and disconnected gas to all those CNG stations, which were violating rules and regulations. Interestingly, the CNG station of Iqbal was also among the violators and had to face the music. SNGPL Lahore General Manager Abdul Haseeb confirmed that Iqbal’s CNG station was not following the schedule. He said that 15 CNG stations in different areas of the city were violating rules and their gas supplies were disconnected.
