The Pakistan Muslim league-Nawaz will mark Wednesday, October 12, as “black day”, the day former president General (r) Pervez Musharraf overthrew Nawaz Sharif’s government in 1999 in a military coup and imposed emergency in the country. In Lahore, the PML-N will hold a protest rally against Musharraf’s unconstitutional steps.

  1. Nowadays, we see the PML-N all geared up and in full swing in its condemnation and warnings to the PPP-led government. Despite protests, rallies, sit-ins and speeches denouncing the government, the PML-N has also said that, if need be, in the interests of the country the party will consider talking to the government. This statement allegedly came after the MQM and the PML-Q rejoined the PPP coalition. I do not understand why PML-N stakeholders make such fiery speeches and instigate and awaken the people to jointly rise against the government only to consider negotiations in the end. While it may not turn out that way, the PML-N has not completely ruled this option out. This inconsistency and self-contradictory political competition is exactly the kind of thing that has worn out the public’s trust in PML-N in the first place. Earlier PML-N leader manipulated Lawyers movement and cashed it and now you are again trying to manipulate the situation for political mileage.
