Give peace a chance

Though the war on terror has been going on for more than a decade, it does not seem to end anytime soon. The proclaimed goals and objectives of the US have not been fulfilled leading to a full scale war stretched over years.

The main effect of this prolonged conflict is not the financial loss, it is the peace itself that has come under direct threat. Peace lasts only as long as there is no hostility. As hostilities have not been removed fully, there is no chance the peace can have its say.

The best way to end such hostilities is to include friends in the endgame of the Afghan situation. This is where Pakistan can play its greater role in bringing stability to its neighbour.
