he construction of the Mehran Highway would be completed within six months, said the City District Government Karachi (CDGK)’s authorities on Monday.
Development work on this road from Hospital Roundabout to Bhains Colony and up to Machine Tool Factory is already under way, whereas the Revenue Department has been directed to remove land encroachments without delay.
The CDGK would also prepare the PC-I and obtain the approval for constructing the link-way between Shah Faisal and Landhi towns by linking Azeempura to Shahrah-e-Altaf.
This was decided during Administrator Muhammad Hussain Syed and District Coordination Officer (DCO) Roshan Ali Sheikh’s visit to Shah Faisal, Korangi, Landhi, Bin Qasim, Gadap and Malir towns.
Parks Director General Liaquat Ali Khan, Works & Services Executive District Officer (EDO) Altaf Memon, Municipal Services EDO Dr Shaukat Zaman and other officers accompanied the administrator and the DCO.
The office-bearers also inspected the cleanliness campaign in the six towns and expressed satisfaction on the overall sanitary condition in the city.
