Balochistan will not be ignored anymore: PM

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani on Tuesday assured the people of Balochistan that their province will not ignored anymore.
“The present government has initiated a series of development projects for removing the sense of deprivation of Balochis”, PM pointed out.
The assurance to the Baloch people came in the wake of PM’s address at the passing out parade of army recruits from Balochistan. He said that Balochistan and its people were a symbol of the country’s honor and dignity, but regrettably the area was neglected in the past.
While apologising for the mistakes of the previous governments, the prime minister said that the present government is trying to compensate the injustice to the Balochis. As part of these efforts‚ the government has evolved a comprehensive strategy for the development of the province and removing the grievances of its people.
He said 33 developmental projects worth Rs.360 billion were underway, while Rs.111 were being spent for water preservation projects. He also mentioned that Rs.1.5 billion were spent to acquire land in Gwadar, and Rs. 8.5 billion were being spent on 17 mega road projects across the province.
He said that the government was also establishing educational projects across Balochistan to educate Baloch youth, and in this regard IT and Business Management University is being established in Quetta.
He also said that the government also announced Aaghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan, under which Baloch people will be given opportunities in different sectors. He informed the gathering that 20,000 jobs would be provided to Baloch youth, while 6,000 Baloch youth would be given jobs in the federal capital.
