The results of a Gilani Research Foundation Survey carried out by Gallup Pakistan revealed that 45 percent Pakistanis blame the government for flooding disasters while the other half (54%) regard it as unforeseen natural calamity.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the four provinces were asked to point out who they thought was responsible for the floods.
Only 20 percent thought that the government’s performance with regards to the flood relief activities was satisfactory.
In another survey, Pakistani men were asked if they preferred a housewife or a working woman as their prospective wife. One-third (35 percent) said they would prefer to marry a working woman, a majority gave high (41 percent) or modest (42 percent) importance to the education of prospective wife when making marital decisions.
