LAHORE – WAPDA clinched the title of the Shaheed Benazir Bhutto seventh National Women’s Karate Championship here at WAPDA Sports Complex Lahore on Sunday. Punjab Governor Latif Khosa was the chief guest of the closing ceremony and distributed prizes among the winners of the championship.
WAPDA took the title with clear margin of eight gold medals and 180 points, Balochistan were placed on second with one gold, three silver and two bronze medals with 70 points, Punjab were placed on third with three silver and two bronze medals with 50 points while Army were finished on fourth with one silver, three bronze medals and 45 points. Earlier, Police Sports Board Additional I.G/Director Zafar Iqbal Lak was the chief guest on the opening ceremony.
In the event of Individual Kata Sohila of WAPDA won the gold medal, Gul Naz of Balochistan won the silver medal while Meamoona of Punjab and Arfa of Police won the bronze medals. In Team Kata event, WAPDA won the gold medal.
