KU Corps to the rescue

A group of the University of Karachi (KU) Disaster Management Corps on distributed relief goods among the rain-affected people of Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Chhor and Chahro Sunday. The group, led by the acting vice-chancellor of KU, Prof Dr Shahana Urooj Kazmi, included students, faculty and staff. They distributed relief goods among more than 300 rain-affected families. “The students raised money to purchase relief goods including flour, rice, pulses and tea and prepared bags for 300 families,” said Dr Kazmi. The group left for the rain-hit areas in the morning in a university bus. Dr Kazmi said that this was the group’s fifth visit to the affected areas for the distribution of relief goods. Another visit is scheduled for next week.
