Three policemen on Sunday were arrested out of five allegedly involved in the case of setting an 18-year-old boy on fire in Faisalabad prison. Muhammad Azeem, resident of Chak- 7 GB of Faisalabad, was apprehended by the Nishatabad police on the suspicion of a motor-cycle theft. He was later taken to the Allied Hospital in critical condition. According to the doctors, he had received severe burn injuries on 30 percent of his body. Azeem’s father blamed the policemen of sprinkling petrol over his son and then setting him on fire. City Police Officer (CPO) Faisalabad Ra’ay Tahir said that several motor-cycles had been recovered from Azeem’s possession and according to the initial interrogation Azeem had set himself on fire. However, three policemen have been arrested out of five suspects.
