The administrative judge of anti-terrorism courts (ATCs) Karachi division, Justice Maqbool Baqar on Saturday remanded a Sunni Tehreek (ST) leader and other activists to police custody until October 11.
The police produced ST leader Shahid Ghauri and other activists before the judicial magistrate (West) for remand, but the court declined the request and directed them to produce the accused before the administrative judge of the ATCs due to presence of a section of the Anti-Terrorism Act in the case against the arrested men.
Later, the police produced the ST activists before the court of the administrative judge of the ATCs and obtained their physical remand. The accused were arrested on Friday over charges of creating a law and order problem in the city.
