Substandard meat is being sold in Rawalpindi Cantt areas and the administration is taking no action against the butchers. Talking to this news agency here on Saturday, the residents of Rawalpindi said that substandard meat was being sold in Chaklala, Tench Bhata, Dharai Hassanabad, Lal Kurti, Dhok Syedan, Chohar chowk, Nasirabad, Misriyaal, Alaabad, Chungi No 22, New Lalazar, Kamran Market, Kashmir Road and other areas, which was causing diseases among them. The residents said that beef was being sold at Rs 300 per kilogram and mutton at Rs 550 to Rs 600 per kilogram. The residents have demanded of the high authorities to take action against the butchers who are selling substandard meat and initiate strict check and balance on the butchers.
Modern park to be set up in Rawalpindi: Commissioner Zahid Saeed has said that a modern public park would be set up over 96-canal area in Rawalpindi. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has provided the land for the construction of the proposed public park to provide entertainment facilities to the residents.
