PPP to observe 4th anniversary of ‘Shuhada-e-Karsaz’

The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has finalised arrangements to observe the fourth death anniversary of those killed at Karsaz, Shahrah e Faisal, in the attack on the procession led by slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto on October 18, 2007.
According to the Sindh People’s Secretariat, Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah chaired a special meeting, the participants of which decided to honour “Shuhada-e-Karsaz” (martyrs of the Karsaz attack), who laid their lives for protecting their beloved PPP leader.
The participants of the meeting decided to pay homage to “Bhutto’s protectors” on October 18 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Shuhada-e-Karsaz Chowk, where party leaders and activists would hold a candlelight vigil. It was learnt that a memorial meeting, to be addressed by the chief minister among others, would be held on October 17.
The meeting that reviewed arrangements for the “memorial day” also decided that the memorial site dedicated to the Shuhada-e-Karsaz would also be formally inaugurated on October 18.
The meeting was also attended by Taj Haider, Agha Siraj Durrani, Najmi Alam, Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi, Saeed Ghani, Siddique Abu Bhai, Rauf Nagori and Junaid Jadi.
