Imran Khan’s new book has revealed that the inspirational all-rounder gave betting tips to his brother-in-law in a Test match involving England and South Africa, ESPN-STAR reported on Saturday.
The report said that Khan took this step in order to help clear the debts incurred by his political party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf, after the 2002 parliamentary elections. “It took me a year to clear the debts the party had incurred during the elections. I cleared our last remaining debts in an unusual way; I was with my family in England, and my brother-in-law, Ben Goldsmith, kept asking me about what would happen in an England versus South Africa Test match. I discovered his interest came from his ‘spread-betting’ on the game.”
“I decided to watch the match, and that every Pound he made after recovering the £10,000 lost would go towards clearing my party’s debt,” writes the cricketer-turned-politician in his recently-published book, Pakistan: A Personal History. British millionaire, Ben, is the brother of Jemima Goldsmith. Jemima married Imran in 1995 but they got divorced in 2004. In spread betting, the pay-off is based on the accuracy of the bet, rather than a simple “win” or “loss” result.
“I have never gambled in my life and have never understood its attraction, but now for the sake of clearing my party’s debts, I watched the Test match with Ben for the next two days, telling him what to do and when,” Imran further elaborates in his book. At one point, the bookie asked, “Mr Goldsmith, you don’t happen to be sitting with your brother-in-law, do you?”
“Et tu”…Seriously? This hardly puts him in league with the rest of the corrupt wolf pack. For one, he did nothing illegal at the time and place. Secondly, I don’t believe he took away anyone’s rights or property while doing so. Also, this was “revealed” in the book he wrote himself, and if THIS is the level of shady the media can muster up to smack on his face, then more power to him. Finally, he didn’t end up kidnapping/murdering/throwing his debtors in jail, so yeah, still good in my books.
This was problem for him up to 2005. Than Earth quake solved all the problems. And last year's flood have helped him to boost his party and he is able to spent much on his dirty politics.

Gambling as I know it, is when you gamble something which you may lose. He didn't gamble anything that he could lose and he didn't use any unfair means to tilt the results in his favor.
Loveliest of all, he wrote it in a book with the knowledge that his opponents will raise hell from it and give PTI free publicity. I think the man is a genius.

Like many other successful projects he set up and gave others to run he should also assume the position of a patron of the party Pakistan Tehreek – e – Insaf and let others to run it. He was a good captain of the cricket team but knows well that people with his credentials will not be accepted to hold a public office in the West.

I am 300% sure that this news is financed by our political parties especially PML-N and PML-Q and some anti-pakistan spy agencies because PTI is strongest offshoot in the politics of Pakistan. PML-N, PML-Q, PPP and MQM are scared and jealous of his popularity amongst the literate and educated people of Pakistan.
Make the right decision at right time is the key to success in future. Make a right decision in casting vote by keeping past track records of that political party and dont get emotional by getting emotional statements from political parties especially PML-N. Get reply from PML-N where is that money collected from poor people of Pakistan in the name of QARZ UTARO MULK SANWARO. It might be the last chance to save Pakistan if go for wrong choice again. Had Nawaz Sharif ever spent his own money or ever he came out for people welfare and construct any hospital or other anyother welfare for people. Whereas Imran Khan built Shukat Khanam Hospital in Lahore, and have started Shaukat Khanam in Peshawar and OXFORD level university in Mianwali on his own resources or by mobilizing people from all over the world for people of Pakistan and not for himself.

Does some body know Gary Hart who was a contender for securing republican party's nomination in USA had to call off his race when it was found out that he was still in contact with his former girl friend after his marriage, while imran is enjoying visits of his divoced wife for what purpose.

Does any one know how much he earned from a fixed match lost on the Perth ground during the tour of Australia in 1987 when he was the captain? The bookies were sitting in Lahore. He left the match in between faking an injury and enjoying with Zakir Khan in the players lounge which the camera was clearly showing. When Waseem his vice cap tried to turn it in Pakistan's favour, imran stepped back into the match and saved it for Australia.
Is there any of his followers to tell him please to stop playing cricket on the political turf if he only thinks he is honest.

Oh man !! He hasn't swallowed a penny of the country. Yes, it is Haraam but my Captain has never been involved in match fixing. If he gambled, he himslef wrote in his own book like a true leader. And for the kind information of PML (N), it is totally legal in UK.
