A young girl has been fatally injured in a hit and run accident in the jurisdiction of Golra Police Station in Sector G-14.
According to eyewitnesses, a car hit Shania Malik, student of class 8, while she was on her way to home from school and left without helping her.
She sustained serious head injuries while one of herm arms arm was also broken. The registration number of the speedy car was ICT 575, they said.
The police have been so far unable to trace the car or its owner despite being timely informed of the accident.
According to doctors, the condition of Shania is quite critical and she is still in coma due to severe head injury. The next 24 hours are said to be crucial as if she fails to wake up, she could lose her memory.
Police have registered a case against unknown persons.
