Former Sindh Home Minister Zulfiqar Mirza gave resignation as Member of Provincial Assembly, according to a private TV channel.
He was talking to media in Karachi after returning to Pakistan after one month. He said that he will present the resignation to speaker of assembly and will make sure that the resignation is accepted.
Mirza once again criticised the Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) and Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik. Mirza said that the joining hands with the MQM by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) is not in favour of Pakistan. A visibly angry Mirza lashed out at his own party for once again shaking hands with the MQM, terming the PPP-MQM alliance “unholy”.
He also announced that he would undertake a movement against the PPP-MQM alliance very soon.
Mirza said that the Peoples Aman Committee would work not just for the people of Lyari but for the entire city. He said that the committee will “wage war” against the MQM workers, who are “exploiting and looting” the citizens of Karachi.
The former home minister further said that if the Aman Committee’s name is associated with any crime without evidence, we will consider that person “an associate of Altaf Hussain.”
Taking pot shots at the interior minister including Mirza said that if Rehman Malik had courage, he should come to Lyari and announce ban on the Aman Committee. “And if he does so, I will go to Islamabad and salute him,” Mirza maintained.
Zulfiqar Mirza also expressed disappointment over the Supreme Court’s verdict on Karachi. However, he said he respects the decision as he is a law abiding citizen.
Among the more specific allegations levelled by Mirza was the charge that Babar Ghauri, the former minister for ports and shipping, used his position to divert some of the arms and ammunition meant for NATO forces in Afghanistan towards use by alleged MQM-backed militant and criminal groups.

@Raza HYDER. This is figment of your imagination that ZM has apologised to MQM. Rest assured he would not do such stupid act. You said that MQM will go from strength to strength. In my opinion this is the beginning of an end of this fascist party which claims to belong to poor and middle class but whose so called poor and destitute leaders are owning properties and business abroad and many of them are driving 4WD vehicles. How is MQM supremo sustaining in London with an army of MQM full time goebbels'? Where are financial resources coming from.
If Dr Mirza comes here to the United Kingdom he will get a rousing reception from the community for his courageous stand against Altaf Hussain. The Scotland Yard has, in its possession, a dossier prepared by Imran Khan of PTI which is lying dormant. Another file prepared by Dr Zulfiqar Mirza will contain irrefutable evidences about Altaf Hussain and his thugs.

Dr. Mirza can become Pakistan's Anna Hazare, he has great potential, people are with him, people are sick and tired of Zardari / shareef brotheraan's. We need change, a big, great change, doesn't matter who brings. At present if Imran khan and Dr. Z. Mirza join hands, no one can stand against them. May Allah bless both of them
