12 more dengue patients hospitalised

A total of 12 dengue suspected patients were admitted to the city’s hospitals during the last 24-hours, said Islamabad Dengue Control and Surveillance Coordinator Dr Najeebullah Durrani.
Of them three patients belonged to Islamabad, one to the rural area, two from the urban area and the remaining patients were from Rawalpindi and Jhelum. According to break-up, seven patients were admitted to the PIMS, three to Shifa International and two to the KRL.
Dr Durrani appealed to the people to take preventive measures against mosquitoes and keep their houses and surroundings clean and free from open stagnant water.
APP adds: The officials of Directorate of Health Services Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Saturday visited the Islamabad Vegetable Market under its campaign to control dengue virus.
Health Director Dr Hassan Arooj expressed serious concern over poor condition of sanitation in the hotels, shops and trucks stands in that area.
He directed to remove garbage and improve drainage system on a immediate basis to protect the citizens from the risk of the epidemic. He also asked the president of Islamabad Vegetable Market, Mohammad Usman Khan, to keep a check on the places where there is any chance of breeding of dengue mosquitoes and take effective measures for getting rid of this fatal disease.
Dr Hassan also briefed the visitors of market about preventive measures against dengue virus and responded to their questions regarding symptoms of the epidemic. He urged the citizens not to afraid of the virus but initiate individual and collective efforts for saving themselves from it.
