An anti-terrorism court on Friday granted bail to Muhammad Ibrahim, involved in the deadly attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team in March 2009 near Liberty Chowk, against bail bond of Rs 0.1 million and one personal surety. Earlier, the accused had filed an application seeking bail in the case submitting that he was nominated in the FIR without any reason and had no criminal record in the past.
He said that the Supreme Court (SC) had already granted bail to the alleged mastermind of the attack due to which the statutory right of bail of applicants had been established in this case. The court, after hearing arguments, granted bail to Ibrahim directing him to submit bail bond of Rs 0.1 million and produce a personal surety.
