Police foils terrorist bid in Islamabad

Islamabad police foiled a massive terrorist plot in the federal capital on Saturday by recovering heavy arsenal including two suicide vests, hand grenades and rocket launchers from a vehicle.
According to details, police conducted a search operation and found arms from a vehicle standing inside a house situated in Chattha Bakhtawar area in the jurisdiction of Shahzad Town police station, Islamabad. Police arrested four people during the operation.
The security forces cordoned off the entire area and called the bomb disposal squad to conduct search.
During the search, a house was raided from where the police recovered heavy ammunition including dozens of rocket launchers, hand grenades and bullets.
It is likely that the suspects were planning to launch a serious terror activity. Further investigations are underway.
Islamabad police have termed it a great success as timely action helped to thwart an untoward incident.
Security has been tightened after the incident and police started snap-checking of vehicles in the federal capital.
