QUETTA – An additional secretary with the Balochistan Food Department was shot dead and his son seriously injured in an armed attack in Quetta on Friday night. According to police, Mohammad Idrees, a Punjabi settler, was on way home from a market with his son Abdul Aziz when unidentified men riding a motorcycle opened fire on him and escaped.
Idrees was killed on the spot, while his son received several bullet injuries. Police said the incident appeared to be an act of targeted killing, however, investigation was underway. Staff Report
