Faisalabad to face Karachi in PBCC Challenge Cup final

Faisalabad and Karachi reached the final of the PBCC Challenge Cup after defeating their respective rivals in the semifinals at NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi Cricket Ground on Friday.
In the first semifinal, Faisalabad beat Sheikhupura by 122 runs. Faisalabad made mammoth 240 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Maqsood Ahmad scored brilliant 122 runs for Faisalabad. Sheikhupura’s Ashraf Bhatti took one wicket.
In reply, Sheikhupura could manage 118 runs for three wickets in 20 overs. Sheikhupura’s Muhammad Ashraf Bhatti scored 47 runs. Anwar Ali of Faisalabad took one wicket. Maqsood Ahmad was declared the man of the match.
In the second semifinal, Karachi defeated Gujranwala by five wickets. After batting first, Gujranwala made 210 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. Muhammad Akram was the star for Gujranwala with 116 runs while Ilyas scored 42 runs. Majid took one wicket for Karachi.
In reply, Karachi achieved the target of 211 runs in 19.5 over for the loss of five wickets. Muhammad Waseem guided Karachi to victory with a splendid knock of unbeaten 48 runs while Murad Ali and Tariq Samuel scored 45 and 37 runs respectively. Gujranwala’s Muhammad Arif grabbed two wickets. Muhammad Waseem was named the man of the match. The final will be played between Faisalabad and Karachi today.
