A genius visionary lost

October 6, 2011 struck waves of shock across the globe with the death of a legendary creative genius, Steve Jobs (1955-2011), co-founder of Apple Inc and Pixar Animation Studios CEO, in Palo Alto, California. He battled pancreatic cancer and finally let it win at the age of 56. Jobs unparalleled contributions; MacBook, iPod, iPhone and iPad took the world of technology a step ahead into the future.
Millions around the world mourn the loss of Steve Jobs claiming it to be the loss of technology. Apple Inc claims that “Steve’s brilliance, passion and energy were the source of countless innovations that enrich and improve all of our lives.” The US President, Barrack Obama recalls Steve Jobs as a “visionary” and a “great American innovator”. Bill Gates, co-founder of Microsoft and Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg grieved the death of a strong competitor.
Mourners across continents gathered outside Apple stores to pay tribute to the man who transformed the telephone industry, the world of computing, music, graphics and animation. They held up pictures of Jobs on their iPads, lit candles and left notes thanking him for his immense contribution in the modern age. The loss of Steve Jobs is indeed the loss of a legend.
