Karachi and Quetta won their matches in the PBCC Challenge Cup 2011 at NED University of Engineering and Technology Karachi. In the first match of the day, Karachi defeated Multan by 10 wickets. Multan made just 80 runs for the loss of eight wickets in 20 overs. Saeed Akhtar was the top scorer with 27 runs. Karachi’s Mujeeb-ud-Deen and Ahsan took two wickets each. In reply, Karachi chased the target of 81 runs in seventh over without losing a wicket. Karachi’s Murad Ali scored unbeaten 51 runs. Murad Ali was declared the man of the match.
In the second match, Quetta beat Sheikhopura by seven wickets. After batting first, Quetta were bowled out at 112 runs. Asim Ali of Quetta scored 28 runs. Sheikhopura’s Ali Raza with a hat-trick took 3 wickets. In reply, Sheikhopura achieved the target of 113 runs in 14.3 overs for the loss of three wickets. Sohail Akram scored 26 runs while Hafiz Amin remained not out on 22 runs. Ali Raza of Sheikhopura was named the man of the match. Today Faisalabad will play against Multan while Sheikhopura will take on Gujranwala.
