The dengue virus claimed another nine lives in the provincial metropolis on Wednesday as 300 new cases were tested positive for the disease across Punjab. According to details, Khalid, 36, Umer Farooq, 20, Bilal, 50, Wajahat, 45 and Azam, 50, lost their lives to the dengue fever at Mayo Hospital. Majeedan Bibi, 60, died at Services Hospital.
Zahida, 35, succumbed to the virus at Jinnah Hospital. Usman Akram, 32, expired at Ganga Ram Hospital and Husnain, 17, died at Lahore General Hospital. At present, 1,531 dengue patients are under treatment at various hospitals of Punjab, of which 1,221 are admitted to various hospitals in Lahore.
