Another epidemic in tow

The sewage and water supply systems of Lahore have been functioning for decades without any repairs or upgrades. Most of them are now in dilapidated situation and require immediate attention. As underground sewage, and in certain areas, over the ground drainage system has developed faults, causing leakage and seepage of dirty and unclean water into the drinking water supply lines.

Many of the diseases in the city are because of unhygienic environment conditions created by such problems. The public is facing diseases such as diarrhea, gastro and such because of neglect by the provincial government.

This is like adding insult to the injury. Will the relevant authorities look into the situation and control it before it becomes an epidemic like dengue.
