5 people killed in armed assault

QUETTA – Five people, including two police officials were killed in two separate incidents in Quetta and Mastung on Wednesday. Unidentified armed men on a motorbike opened fire on Imran Siddique at Baloch Colony Brewery Road, Quetta, injuring him. Siddique succumbed to his injuries on way to Bolan Medical Complex Hospital.
The police tried to intercept the culprits from close to Joint Road and an encounter ensued, in which Sub-Inspector Malik Nawaz, Constable Shahbaz Jadoon and a passer by Javed Habib were killed while two passersby were injured. The assailants managed to escape. In another incident, a Khursheed Sarangzai was killed when unidentified men opened fire on him in Mastung. Unidentified armed persons also opened fire on a Pesh Imam of Masjid Bilal and escaped.
