Three Americans were stopped from entering Peshawar by the agencies for lacking diplomatic identity or an NOC on Thursday. “Three US nationals were sent back to Islamabad from Motorway Interchange because they did not have an NOC or a legal document of travel,” an official told Pakistan Today, adding that they had arrived at 11:20am and were sent back after 20 minutes. According to the official, the US nationals on Land Cruiser numbered PU 245, were stopped for identity confirmation at the Motorway Interchange. Instead of producing diplomatic passport and card issued by Pakistan Foreign Office, they showed a computer-composed single page without office seal or identity which stated “they will not be stopped and their identity will not be checked.” They were also reluctant to produce their American passport, he said, adding that when forced, they produced passports for Charles Arthur Passport No 910054498, Darrell Fernando Passport No 910078989 and Thomas Richard Passport No 910119251. Secret and law-enforcing agencies personnel also arrived at the scene with disrupted traffic.
