Rehan, Salman lose PHF central contracts

The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) on Tuesday gave central contract to the national players leaving out Rehan Butt and Salman Akbar.
The central contracts were approved by the PHF in its 20th meeting of the executive board and an official of the federation said that they were given on performance-base to the pool of national players.
The “incentive contracts” programme will be applicable to the players with effect from July 1, said the PHF official.
The most notable players missing from the list of contracted players are Rehan Butt and goalkeeper Salman Akbar.
The players put in category ‘A’ of Rs 50,000 are: Sohail Abbas, Waseem Ahmed, Shakeel Abbasi, Rashid Mehmood, Fareed Ahmed, Muhammad Imran and Muhammad Waqas.
The players placed in category ‘B’ of Rs 40,000 are: Abdul Haseem Khan, Muhammad Rizwan Senior and Muhammad Irfan.
The players put in category ‘C’ of Rs 30,000 are: Muhammad Zubair, Shafqat Rasool, Muhammad Tousiq, Syed Imran Shah, Syed Kashif Shah, Muhammad Rizwan Junior, Ali Shan and Muhammad Umar Bhutta.
The junior players including Tasawwar Abbas, Muhammad Bilal Qadir, Muhammad Suleman, Muhammad Irfan, Muhammad Umair and Mazhar Abbas will be given Rs.15,000 each.
