The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has been conferred to host the prestigious “AFC U-14 Festival of football 2012 Central Region” in Islamabad from April 2 to 17, 2012. The award for holding this festival shows the confidence reposed in the PFF professional competency, administrative skills and devotion displayed for the promotion and development of football in Asia.
The U-14 fortnight Festival is a multipurpose playing and educational festival which focuses on entertainment for the youngster. The U-14 Festival is designed to fetch definite development enhancing technical abilities of the participants that will augur well for Asia. The main core of the festival is to create a positive and enjoyable life experience for children through the festival and in the process raise the standard of overall performance and support the development of each individual player within the game of football in Asia.
The objective of the festival is to provide U-14 players the opportunity to play and gain experience in which the goal is to achieve certain physical, technical and tactical development rather than emphasis on winning, to provide continuous player development pathway from the grassroots at school level to the elite at the continental level and ensure smooth transition for the elite player at International level and enhance the role of the youth development programme in Member Associations (MA), thus encourage the MA to start early for their national team in preparation for the future AFC competitions. The Member Associations for the Central Region Festival are: The Football Association of Turkmenistan, the Football Federation of Kyrgyz Republic, the IR Iran Football Federation, the Tajikistan Football Federation, The Football Federation of Afghanistan and the Uzbekistan Football Federation.
Grassroots Coaching Course in full swing: FIFA instructor Ali Askar Lali from Germany is conducting the second Grassroots Football Coaching Course under programme called “Football Grassroots in Pakistan” at the Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) House. The Grassroots Coaching Course is in full swing and will be ended on October 08.
The project is designed to provide psychological relief/eliminate sufferings of the peoples adversely affected due to floods in the country, make football accessible to those girls and boys, who do not have means to play and develop/boost the game of football at grass root level. As many as 35 participants have been selected for the second course from all over the country possessing requisite knowledge of the game.
The selected participants are: Shazia Akhter, Aroosa Talib, Zahida Parveen, Shaista Lashari, Fida Hussain, Abdul Hafeez, Faiz Muhammad, Qaisr Ali, Imran Jabbar, Maqsood Sadiq, Amir Ali Qureshi, Muhammad Ijaz, Farrukh Javed, Rao Abdul Qadoos, Zahid Shaheen, Saif Ullah, Sohail-ur-Rehman, Asadullah, Syed Irshad Ali Shah, Javed Ali Somroo, Altaf Ahmed, Azeem Khan, Syed Asmat Ullah, Yasrab Nawaz, Shafqat Ullah, Javed Iqbal, Fazal Wahid, Ghullam Rasool, Riaz Ahmed, Niaz Ahmed, Ghulam Nabi, Abdul Rashid, Nida Muhammad, Omer Farooq Khan and Muhammad Ayaz.
