Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) has decided to once again join hands with the Pakistan People’s Party-led coalition government, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday. MQM will make a formal announcement to this effect shortly, sources said.
The ministers of MQM had submitted their resignations to the government but they had not been accepted. Now after the decision of the MQM’s return to the government, MQM’s ministers would be immediately taking charge of their posts both in the provincial and federal governments, sources added.
Earlier, a delegation of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) met with the leadership of MQM here at the Governor’s House. The meeting proved fruitful for PPP as it succeeded in wooing back the support of MQM.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad said on Wednesday that the MQM would continue to work unconditionally for the stability of democracy, the channel reported.
Talking to journalists along with Agha Siraj Durrani, the governor said the meeting would discuss how democracy could be strengthened.
Durrani took this opportunity to clarify that there was no deadlock between the PPP and MQM.

  1. It was expected that the MQM would rejoin the government. MQM can not live without being in the government because it enjoys immense perks being in the ministries. There are no principle as it is trumpeting all the times. The ministers belonging to the MQM are loyal to the governor who protects MQM's thugs and is himself loyal to Pir who is loyal to no one. Zardari is bent upon following his ridiculous and murderous policy of 'reconciliation' just to save his power but will cost him dearly as the massive majority who are Sindhis feel deprived and neglected and their interests bartered away to placate an ethnic party whose target killers are being arrested almost every day, The appetite of MQM is insatiable.

After a little while the nation will witness MQM leaders like Anis or Haroon hurling resignation papers of their ministers in their hands. Just wait.
