The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday, rejecting a petition of Salim Akhtar seeking stay order in favour of his posting as Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) chief executive officer (CEO), permitted new Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO)-appointee Sharafat Sial to take charge as LESCO CEO. Sial joined WAPDA in 1977 as a junior engineer (electrical). He is the only engineer who has worked in all four provinces and also worked as NTDC chief engineer.
