Federal Religious Affairs Ministry Director Brigadier (r) Shamsur Rehman emphasised the need to inculcate the true sprit of Haj among intending pilgrims.
He was addressing the inaugural session of the Haj training seminar of intending Hajis organised by the Defence Housing Authority (DHA), Lahore. Religious scholar Dr Khalid Zaheer said that Hajis were not only to perform a religious ritual as part of the annual congregation but also demonstrate an exemplary conduct that should reflect a positive image of their motherland. He emphasised that their duty during their stay at the holy land was two folds where besides seeking spiritual purification and exhibiting moral decency they have a national obligation as ambassadors of their country.
