Dengue eats up eight more

Deaths from dengue virus in Punjab climbed to 160 as eight more people succumbed to the disease on Tuesday. At least 143 of the total deaths in Punjab have reportedly occurred in Lahore alone. Five people lost their lives to dengue virus on Tuesday, while the cause of death of three people who passed away on September 28 was confirmed to be dengue. Arif, 28, Abida, 25, of Gujranwala and Muhammad Ali, 80, died of the deadly fever at Mayo Hospital.
Sarwar, 70 and Aalia, 45, died at Services Hospital. The number of daily patients contracting fever has fallen to a little extent, as 278 cases were confirmed to have infected with the disease. The Indonesian medical team interacted with the PDMA and Rescue 1122 officials to share their expertise with them regarding management of the epidemic. Meanwhile, six new dengue patients were admitted to Nishtar Hospital Multan after which the number of dengue fever cases in the city has reached 56.
Dengue also continued to spread in Faisalabad, with the number of patients in the city rising to 858.
