The main accused, Shahroz, in the case of rape committed against a matriculation position-holder in Shahkot was arrested on Tuesday. Earlier, his pre-arrest bail plea was cancelled and he was declared an absconder for failing to present himself in court. According to media reports, four accused, including one women and a nominated accused, were arrested, while the main accused Shamroze Falak, son of an influential landlord from village Kotla Kahilon was on interim bail. The accused is said to have gone to Girls Complex of Shahkot College of Commerce and told the administration that Saba Rai’s mother was seriously ill.
He then took Saba to a deserted house and raped her accompanied by other friends. Additional Session Judge, Mahboob Ahmad Khan terminating the interim bail declared Shamroze Falak an absconder for his failing to present him in the court.
