Following the footprints of PML-N, JUI-F and MQM, the ministers and members of the PML-Q submitted their resignations to party President Chaudary Shujaat citing that the government had failed to resolve the issues of the masses.
The resignations were presented to Chaudary Shujaat Hussain during the parliamentary party session held here on Tuesday. They also decided to boycott the parliament’s session until allotment of seats on opposition benches.
Highlighting the government’s inefficiency, the ministers maintained that they could not continue to work with a government that does not fulfill its commitments.
The ministers who have submitted their resignation include Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, Ghaus Bukhsh Meher, Faisal Saleh Hayat, Ameer Muqaam, Reyaz Pirzada, Chaudhry Wajahat Hussain, Waqas Akram and Shah Jahan Yousuf.
The leaders also criticized the Federal government and said that they would quit the alliance if needed. The party leaders have submitted the resignation, but the final decision to withdraw from the governing coalition rests with the leaders of the party.
Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed of the PML-Q said that the government should come up with a strong policy and should clear out the allegations made by the US on Pakistan.
Reliable sources told Online that Chaudary Brothers had tried to convince the annoyed parliamentarians saying that they would discuss their reservations with the parliament but to no avail. The federal ministers and members were of the view that they were facing embarrassment before the masses particularly in their respective constituencies for joining hands with the government.
Federal Minister Riaz Hussain Pirzada while speaking to Online said that they joined hands with the government to serve the masses; however, the PPP only doubled the miseries of already hapless masses. He further stated that they could not work together anymore.
Meanwhile, Chaudary Shujaat Hussain and Chaudary Pervez Elahi while addressing the parliamentary party meeting said that the single party could not pull out the country from severe crises particularly the energy crises. They urged the need of a national agenda to resolve the problems being faced by the country. The meeting also reviewed the ongoing parliamentary business on which Chaudary Brothers proposed the government to review the annual development plan in the head of energy crises. The party president directed all the members to carry out every possible help for the flood-affected areas.
