FATA students protest suspension of scholarships

The Khyber Students Union (KSU) staged a demonstration on Tuesday against the suspension of the Federally Administered Tribal Area (FATA) students’ scholarships and demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa governor and the elected representatives from FATA to take notice of the issue.
The students threatened that if their problem was not resolved within a week, they would observe protest in front of the FATA Secretariat.
Central General Secretary of KSU Muslim Afridi led the protesters, who chanted slogans and held placards inscribed with their demands outside the Cantonment Railway Station.
Talking to reporters, he said that for the last three years annual scholarship to FATA students had been stopped in all technical colleges, adding that FATA students in other colleges were still benefiting from the scholarship.
