The Rajasthan unit of major Indian political party, the BJP has demanded resignation of State Home Minister Shanti Dhariwal in the wake of alleged violation of protocol rules by Commerce Minister Amin Fahim during his recent Ajmer visit, a private TV channel reported on Monday.
Alleging Fahim held a meeting in Ajmer with thousands of people from border districts of Barmer and Jaisalmer without permission from the administration, BJP Rajasthan chief Arun Chaturvedi demanded a judicial probe into the matter. Chaturvedi wrote a letter to Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot demanding stern action against those responsible for the “intelligence failure”, the channel said.
He claimed that according to the government schedule, the minister was to go back to Jaipur after visiting the Ajmer shrine but instead went to a hotel and held a meeting with people who came there from frontier parts of the state.
