CID arrests five ‘target killers’

The Crime Investigation Department (CID)’s Anti-Extremism Cell claimed on Monday that it has arrested five target killers from different areas of the city and recovered weapons from them.CID Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chaudhry Aslam said the alleged target killers were wanted in the murder cases of 17 people
“Two .222 rifles, four TT pistols and a number of rounds were recovered from their possession,” the SSP added.
The CID official said that the arrested suspects are affiliated with two political parties. They were identified as Imran alias Billa, Ali alias Shahji, Ali Ahmed alias Ganja, Abid alias Mota and Imran alias Faqi.
Aslam said the arrested men killed six people in Orangi Town, six in Shah Faisal Colony and five in Baldia Town.
It is worth noting that Chaudhry Aslam’s house was recently bombed by extremists but he and his family survived the attack. Eight people, including a school-going woman and her son, died in the attack.
