President Asif Ali Zardari has said that implementation on the decisions taken by the All-Parties Conference (APC) would be ensured.
He was talking to JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman at the Presidency on Sadr Monday. The two leaders discussed the overall political situation in the country, decisions taken in the APC, improvement in relations between the PPP and JUI-F and other matters of national importance. Well-placed sources said that President Zardari highlighted that the country was passing through a critical juncture and the decisions taken by the political forces together bore testimony they could counter every major challenge and ensure national security and integrity by working in unison. He said the democratic government would give top priority to national security and solidarity.
President Zardari added that the PPP believed in politics of reconciliation and would continue that policy. “We respect the mandate of the JUI-F,” he added. The sources said Fazl apprised the president of his concerns over the allegations levelled by Afghanistan regarding the killing of former Afghan president Burhanud Din Rabbani, assuring the President Zardari of every possible cooperation to ensure national security and integrity.
