Ambassadors-designate of the Kingdom of Netherlands, Egypt, Norway, Sudan, Czech Republic and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Tuesday presented their credentials to President Asif Ali Zardari at a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr. “After presenting their credentials, the ambassadors separately called on the president and discussed bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest,” said an official statement.
The president felicitated the newly appointed ambassadors and hoped that they will work for further strengthening the existing ties of their respective countries with Pakistan. National anthems of Pakistan and the respective countries of the ambassadors-designate were played as they arrived at the Aiwan-e-Sadar. The convoys were also presented Guard of Honour by a contingent of Pakistan Army.
