‘Sanaullah involved in land-grabbing in Faisalabad’

Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah and his relatives are involved in every incident of land grabbing and receiving kickbacks, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Punjab Information Secretary Akram Chaudhry said on Monday.
He said that Sanaullah should inform the masses about the mess in his own district before pointing fingers at former Punjab CM Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, who served the people of the province with great projects such as the Rescue 1122. Separately, PML-Q Punjab Parliamentary Leader Chaudhry Zaheeruddin directed the Punjab Irrigation Department to install tube wells in saline areas at the earliest for cultivation of the next wheat crop, as last years floods had made 90,000 acres of land saline.
NICL case’s hearing
extended: Hearing of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam against Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) Member of the Provincial Assembly (MPA) Chaudhry Moonis Elahi was adjourned until October 8 on Monday, as Lahore District and Sessions Judge Mujahid Mustaqeem was on leave. On September 26, the judge had given a last chance to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to file the challan of the scam until October 3 but the FIA failed to do so.
Hamesh’s remand
extended: An accountability court on Monday extended the judicial remand of former Bank of Punjab (BoP) president Hamesh Khan, former Kazakhstan honorary consulate Seth Nisar, Haris Steel Mills Owner Sheikh Afzal and Sheikh Munir until October 17, in the BoP loan scam worth Rs 12 billion. A medical certificate was presented in court on behalf of Afzal, who could not turn up for hearing. The court, extending the judicial remand, directed NAB authorities to file the reference against the accused by the next date of hearing.
PU declares BCom result: The Punjab University (PU) Examinations Department on Monday declared the result of BCom-I Annual Examinations 2011 and Doctor of Pharmacy, Fourth Professional, 2nd Annual Examinations 2010. The pass percentage in BCom examinations remained 35.10 while in Doctor of Pharmacy, 72.97. The detailed results were also available www.pu.edu.pk.
