Information Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan has said Mian Nawaz Sharif is trying to raise his political stature and covering up incompetence of Punjab government by targeting President Zardari.
“Criticism against President Asif Zardari by Mian Nawaz Sharif is an attempt by the latter to enhance his political weight. Through this criticism he is trying to cover up the failures and incompetence of Punjab government. However, such criticism is not in the interest of any one,” she said this while talking to media men here Monday at the National Press Club Islamabad.
Responding to a question, she said Mian Nawaz Sharif had always tried to undermine national unity. President Zardari had not come through back doors, but he had come after being elected by four provincial assemblies and both the houses of parliament. Thus, criticising him is an insult of the mandate of parliament and provincial assemblies, she underlined.
