The Pakistan Cycling Federation (PCF) has expressed surprise at the statement of its former secretary Idris Haider Khawaja. PCF’s Secretary Syed Azhar Ali Shah said the PCF elections were convened on September 24 and were supervised by Secretary Pakistan Olympic Association Abdul Khaliq Khan, Rep POA Lt Col (Retd) Zafar Ahmed and Rep Pakistan Sports Board Azam Dar. He said after the consensus of the General Council, the sitting president Ch. Nouraiz Shakoor invited the nominations for the PCF Offices and Idris Khawaja’s objection was overruled by the Council. Out of the 15 eligible voters in the attendance, 12 were cast in favour of the new panel headed by Munawar Baseer. Secretary PCF informed that after the election, former President invited the newly elected President Munawar Baseer Ahmad to address the General Council and also formally handed over the Presidency to him. Idris after the meeting agreed to handover the entire record, data, documents and more than six racing bicycles and other equipment that was donated by IOC’s representative Syed Shahid Ali Shah to PCF. He said the POA and the PSB which supervised the elections, now fully recognize the newly elected panel.
