NUML expels boy, girl for thrashing each other

The administration of National University of Modern Languages (NUML) expelled two students of M.Sc Mass Communications for fighting in their classroom. According to details, Arshad Malik, a final year student of Mass Communications Department, was just to enter the classroom on September 19 when one of his female classmates, Naila Gul, locked the classroom. Arshad forcefully opened the door which hit the girl. She got infuriated and started thrashing the boy with her shoe. In retaliation, the boy too started slapping the girl on her face. Later, the matter was reported to the director general who constituted a three-member committee to fix the responsibility for the incident. A source in NUML on Sunday told Pakistan Today that the inquiry committee recommended expulsion of the boy for two semesters and that of the girl for one semester, holding both responsible for the incident. The DG endorsed the committee’s decision. When contacted, spokesman for NUML, Amir Saleem, confirmed expulsion of Arshad and Naila Gul.
