A man and a woman were killed and three others injured in different parts of the metropolitan on Saturday.
According to details, a man killed his wife over a petty dispute in Shadman Town. Syed Asif Ahmed sprayed his wife, Tooba, with bullets over a minor argument and escaped. The victim’s body was shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC).
Separately, a group of people killed a man and injured two people in Sachal Goth over a land dispute. The culprits broke into a house and opened fire on the family. Bilo Hashim Khan was killed, whereas Jatoi and his sister Amlaa Jan Muhammad wounded as a result. The deceased and the injured were shifted to the JPMC. Police arrested two of the attackers, Yousaf and Javed, and registered a case against them.
In another incident, an unidentified person was injured in cross-firing between two groups in Keamari. The incident took place over a minor quarrel between children. Following the quarrel between the children, the Abdul Sattar Mangwali and Pakhtun Mangwali groups opened fire on each other, which resulted in a passer-by getting wounded. The firing forced the locals to stay indoors for over two hours. However, both the groups returned home after the pesh imam of a local mosque intervened. Police remained absent during the two-hour clash.
BODY FOUND: Police recovered a bullet-riddled body from Cheel Chowk and shifted it to the Civil Hospital Karachi.
ANP VEHICLE: Unidentified culprits seized a tanker (No JP-8213) and kidnapped its driver from Gulzar-e-Hijri. According to an Awami National Party (ANP) spokesman, the tanker was the property of ANP-Sindh President Shahi Syed.
