The Republic of Korea will always stand by the Pakistani nation in their hour of need and trial, Korean Consul General In Ki Lee said on Saturday.
He was speaking at a ceremony arranged to observe the National Day of the Republic of Korea.
Lee said that he wants to take this opportunity pay his compliments to the
people and the government of Pakistan for joining the Korean national
day celebrations.
“Though both countries are far from each other, Korea and Pakistan share many similarities,” he added.
”Many Korean companies of world repute like Samsung, LG, Lotte are present and doing business in Pakistan.”
The Korean envoy said that his country had become a great and prosperous nation
by following and fully implementing the first five-year plan which began in 1953 and was prepared for it by Pakistani economists. “The Korean people would also never forget the humanitarian aid extended to it by the Pakistan people and government during the Korean War,” he added.
Lee said that Korea has donated goods worth millions of dollars for
the flood-affected people of Sindh.
Sindh Assembly Speaker Nisar Khuhro, the chief guest on the occasion, thanked the Korean consul general and said that is a great pleasure to be present at the Korean
National Day reception.
