Saifullah urges government to defy US pressure

Pakistan Muslim League-Likeminded President and Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Senator Salim Saifullah Khan while presenting his party stance in All Parties Conference, urged upon the government to convey its message strongly to the US that no military action in North Waziristan would be carried out upon external pressure. He said that the decision regarding military action in North Waziristan would be taken by the military and civil leadership of Pakistan keeping in view the national interest, said a press release issued from his office. Saifullah said: “Foreign policy never remains static rather it is always dynamic and keeps on changing with the changing circumstances.” He also said that a joint committee of the parliament should be constituted to review all important policy matters. The committee should also prepare a comprehensive report based on suggestions for policy-making within three months to present before the government, adding that the government should take measures to implement the given suggestions in letter and spirit.
