Progress has been made in former Punjab governor Salmaan Taseer’s son Shahbaz Taseer’s kidnapping case, Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah said on Saturday.
He was talking to journalists after attending the graduation ceremony of 34 newly-trained prosecutors at the Punjab Judicial Academy. Sanaullah said that a joint investigation team was working to investigate and find out the whereabouts of Shahbaz but it was not appropriate at this time to disclose details of the clues gathered until now to recover Shahbaz. To a question on the death sentence awarded to Salmaan Taseer’s killer Mumtaz Qadri, he said that it was a judicial decision, which needed to be respected by all. Earlier addressing prosecutors, he asked them to work diligently, honestly and with dedication and also announced Rs 10 million for the academy.
