Eight arrested, arms recovered

Police arrested eight people from various parts of the city on Friday. The Frere police arrested an alleged extortionist, Badshah Khan Magsi and recovered weapons and money from his from his possession.
The police claimed that the arrested man was the gang leader of a group of bandits and was involved in dozens of robberies.  The Awami Colony police arrested three alleged street criminals, Shahrukh, Taimor and Arsalan and seized motorcycles and weapons from them.
The Gadap police arrested two men and recovered two TT pistols and 50gm heroin from their possession.
The Sir Syed police arrested two alleged street criminals and seized two TT pistols from them.
The arrested men are believed to be involved in 12 cases of street crimes.
ABANDONED BAGS: Panic gripped the residents of the area near the National Stadium when a passer-by found two abandoned bags lying on the road.
They informed the police about the bags and personnel of Bomb Disposal Squad arrived there took the bags into their custody.
BODY FOUND: Police found a bullet-riddled body in Lyari and shifted it to the Civil hospital. The identity of the victim could not be ascertained till the filing of this report.
GUNNED DOWN: A man named Lal Khan was killed and two others suffered bullet injuries during an exchange of firing between two groups in Quaidabad. Police lodged a case and arrested people from both groups. The body and the injured were shifted to the Jinnah hospital.
