Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leaders expressed confidence in the government and its will to protect the national interest, while opposition parties stressed on the implementation of decisions made in the All-Parties Conference (APC).
PPP Punjab General Secretary Sami Ullah Khan and PPP Punjab Finance Secretary Aurangzeb Barki expressed full confidence in their party’s leadership. PPP Punjab Assembly Parliamentary Leader Zulfiqar Gondal expressed his concerns over the press conference by Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif, questioning if Sharif supported the US accusations or Pakistani stance.
Awami National Party (ANP) leader Qurban Kakar said that in APC, his party demanded that a policy be chalked out after the joint parliamentary resolution and Pakistan should revisit its policy towards the US. Jamaat-e Islami (JI) chief Syed Munawar Hasan said that the civil and military leadership attending the APC had finally accepted his party’s stance that issues should be resolved through dialogue instead of force.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) leader Shabbir Sial asked for a national agenda to pull the country out of the present crisis.
