WFP team to visit rain-hit areas from today

A delegation of the World Food Programme (WFP) would visit the rain- and flood-affected areas of Sindh from Friday (today). WFP Deputy Executive Director for Operations Ramiro Lopez told Sindh Chief Secretary Raja Muhammad Abbas that the WFP has already initiated various relief programmes in the provinces of Sindh and Balochistan.
Lopez said the WFP team would be visiting Hyderabad, Badin, Sanghar and Mirpurkhas in the first phase to monitor and evaluate the extent of the damages caused by the natural disaster and the work so far accomplished by the WFP in this regard. On the occasion, the chief secretary informed the WFP delegation about the relief measures taken so far by the provincial government in collaboration with the national and provincial disaster management authorities.
